► Housed in a former Ursuline convent from 17e century, the Musée du Faouët has a collection of works by numerous French and foreign artists who have visited Brittany, and more particularly Le Faouët, since the mid-19e century. Each year it also presents a temporary exhibition dedicated to one of these artists or to a regional theme.

Exhibition from 1 April to 17 September 2023 A collector on the trail of painters in Brittany":

This exhibition, which will be the last before the major renovation and expansion of the Musée du Faouët in the Ursulines convent, brings together a private collection of nearly a hundred works by sixty painters, from Brittany and elsewhere, from the late 19th century to the 2000s.

This exhibition takes visitors on a journey to Brittany through the collection of a man with a passion for painting. Built up little by little as he fell in love and met new people, this collection is echoed in the landscapes of Brittany, particularly the seascapes. Sensitive to the works of contemporaries such as Roger Bezombes, Jean-Jacques Morvan, Georges Rohner, René Quéré and others, our collector has gone back in time to enrich his collection with representations of an older Brittany, as seen through the eyes of painters such as Fernand Le Gout-Gérard, Henri Barnoin, Henri Rivière, Hervé-Mathé, Pierre de Belay, Adolphe Beaufrère and others. Nearly a hundred works take us on an artistic journey in the footsteps of these sixty painters.

Follow this collector's itinerary to discover Brittany through painting, and take part in the events organised throughout the season (adult, teen, family and school visits, lectures, yog art sessions, flash visits, etc.).
