NATURE AND BOTANICAL WALK IN QUIMPER : LOCMARIA AND THE STANGALA

Adèle Le Berre, herbalist guide, invites you to discover the ancient and little-known plants of the Garden of the Locmaria Prioryclassified Remarkable Gardenlocated along the river Odet.

Your a journey into the history of plants continues right into the heart of Locmaria, Quimper's original quarter. And indeed, wild plants are everywhere, including in the city centre. All you have to do is look out for them: look up a little or get out of the way of busy streets. Between the cobblestones, other plants take their ease: pellitory, knotweed, plantain, St John's wort, toadflax... You can't eat these plants, but they do have a lot of stories to tell.

In the afternoon, discover the Stangala gorges. A geological curiosity due to the nature of the rocks and tectonic accidents, the Stangala takes the form of a steeply-sloping gorge all the way to the River Odet. The Odet winds its way through the heart of a wild, wooded gorge steeped in history. In this place of legends, your guide and lecturer invites you to discover an unmissable natural site around Quimper.
